Big Top Square Dance
Our Saturday night Big Top Square Dance has become a signature event at the festival. Our caller this year is Paul Silveria. Providing music is The Evans Family Band, likely joined by some other great old-time players. If you have never been to a square dance, don’t worry. It is beginner friendly, following the long-held tradition that every dance is taught on the spot. A square is made up of four couples and your partner can be anyone. Just ask someone to dance!
Saturday night, right after the concerts on the main stage, our circus tent fills with people dancing to fast-paced old-time dance music (that’s fiddle, banjo, upright bass and guitar) and the caller will take you away with simple calls, bringing the whole crowd together for a memorable dance you won’t want to miss.
