Big Top Square Dance
This year, it’s the fifth annual Big Top Square Dance, featuring Vancouver’s Wooly Bears. Beginner friendly, following the long-held tradition that every dance is taught on the spot. A square is made up of four couples and your partner can be anyone. Just ask someone to dance! So come one, come all, and square your sets at the 2017 Sooke River Bluegrass Festival.
Saturday night, right after the concerts on the main stage, the whole circus tent fills with people dancing to fast-paced old-time dance music (that’s fiddle, banjo, upright bass and guitar) and the caller will take you away with simple calls, bringing the whole crowd together for a memorable dance you won’t want to miss.
